Advertiser Disclosure

The short version: we accept advertising and affiliate commissions, and that pays for the site. Advertisers do not get to write our articles.

How we get paid

The Money Zone is a participant in several affiliate and advertising programs. We receive a commission when a reader clicks through one of our links and signs up for a financial product. This includes credit cards, bank accounts, brokerage accounts, loans, insurance quotes, and tax software.

What that means for you

  • The cost of the product is not changed by your clicking our link. Your APR, fees, signup bonus, and account terms are the same as if you went to the issuer directly.
  • Not every product we cover has an affiliate relationship. Some products are reviewed because they are best in class, not because they pay us.
  • Some products that pay us still get critical coverage when we think a reader would be worse off using them.

What advertisers do NOT get

  • Edits to articles. Advertisers do not review or approve our content before publishing.
  • Higher star ratings. We do not modify scores or rankings to please a partner.
  • Silence. We will write about a product's downsides whether or not we are paid.

How we mark this on the page

You will see "Advertisement" labels on banner ads. You may also see "Sponsored" or "Partner offer" labels on individual links. Where we describe a product in an article, we link to it with a normal underlined link - you can hover any link to see whether the destination is a partner page.
